MALLEN TVG APU The anticipated Mallen TVG family of APU's is built around the modular TVE-2000 core currently under development. Because of the unique stacking modularity and integration flexibility of the design, a wide range of electrical power outputs, from 2 kW - 10 kW, is possible with this single core size design.  In addition, the intrinsic core scalability should enable an expanded output domain, ranging from under 500 watts to over 50 kW of highly efficient electrical output. The technology permits an extremely compact and lightweight, yet robust and reliable system package.  For example, a 2000 watt (71 amp at 28VDC) electrical output APU system should fit in the palm of the hand and weigh less than 10 lbs., with a recommended time between overhaul (TBO) of 3500 hours.  And a 10 kW electrical output APU system design is being evaluated with a projected weight of 35 lbs.   Mallen APU's are being designed as next generation technologies that provide ultra-quiet operation never before witnessed in an aircraft APU.  And Mallen APU's are being designed as sealed, oil-free systems that require no scheduled maintenance until an economical rapid exchange at the recommended TBO interval.
